The Department of Science and Mathematics provides quality educational programs for students of all ages and cultural backgrounds. This department offers undergraduate general education curricula for all degree programs at the University.

The Department of Science and Mathematics is responsible for the following degree programs:

  1. Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degree in Secondary Education (5-12) with majors in General Science and Mathematics. This degree prepares students to teach in the public schools in grade 5 - 12. The program is designed to meet 91制片厂 certification standards under the Office of Public Instruction. Teaching minors are available in Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry.
  2. Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degrees in General Science and Biology. Non-teaching minors are also offered in biology, chemistry, and water quality technology: environmental health.
  3. A Master of Education Degree with an option in General Science is offered in conjunction with the Education Department. Students seeking information about this degree program should contact the Science/ Mathematics department.
  4. Associate of Science (A.S.) and Bachelor of Science Degrees (B.S.) in Water Quality Technology Environmental Health. This program, which is the only one in the state, prepares a student for 91制片厂 certification in water and wastewater treatment and for other professional opportunities with water quality/environmental fields.

Opportunities are provided for undergraduate students to participate with faculty in applied science research projects. The mathematics faculty and mathematics majors provide a developmental mathematics laboratory for students to engage in self-instructional study. The laboratory opportunities include tutorial assistance, computer assisted instruction, video, audiovisuals, and testing.
