The Northern Sons hosts a reunion concert on the campus. They were an outstanding folk music group from the 60鈥檚 made up of Charlie Clikeman, Dr. Gary Funk, Bruce Rampelberg, and Dr. Bob Casad.

91制片厂 hosts the grand opening of the new motor鈥檚 lab on April 9.

Student Senate purchases a number of round metal picnic tables and put in some concrete pads.

Rosalyn Templeton is hired as the new Provost to replace Dr. Joe Callahan who retired.

Hagener Science Center receives a new roof, new boilers, and updates three new chemistry labs.

The North side of the SUB basement is renovated for a student/staff fitness center. The center is equipped with weights, benches, recumbent bikes, ellipticals, treadmills, multi-gym, resistance tubing, yoga mats, kettlebells, body bars, and stability equipment.

Student Senate paints the N on the hill that was built in 1965.

During the Christmas break of 2010 the old swimming pool was filled with Styrofoam and covered with plywood. This approach creates an excellent foundation for athletic activities and makes it possible to reinstate the pool if needed. The wrestling team uses the space for their practice facilities.

2011

The Lights Basketball team wins the Frontier Conference Championship by defeating Carroll College and cuts down Carroll鈥檚 basketball net for winning the title.

Ted Turner receives an honorary doctorate and is the main speaker for commencement.

Frank Trocki resigns as Chancellor.

Joseph Callahan came out of retirement to serve as interim Chancellor after the resignation of Dr. Frank Trocki.

Carol Reifschneider is appointed interim Dean of the College of Education Arts and Sciences and Nursing (CEASN).

In an effort to improve Northern's "brand" and image, Northern's University Cabinet approves a departmental logo. The logo uses the normal Northern logo but adds a second line to distinguish the department, program, or college.

Northern added a men鈥檚 golf team to the women鈥檚 golf team. David Boles coaches both teams.

A new grill opens in the Student Union Building in the Northwest corner of the cafeteria. Students can order burgers, fries, chicken strips, premade sandwiches, and fruit salads.

Student Senate purchases three picnic tables and two benches. These items are bought with the sustainability fee and set the style and standard for all current tables and benches.

The Electronics Building receives new boilers that are funded through the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act funds and 91制片厂 Department of Environmental Quality's State Buildings Energy Conservation Program.

Youth Built program completes their first house which was purchased by the Chippewa Cree tribe and moved to Rocky Boy.

2012

James Limbaugh became the new Chancellor for 91制片厂 on January 1, 2012.

Two electric kilns are installed in the basement of Pershing Hall to replace the old gas-powered kiln.

91制片厂 receives a grant for $647,748 from The U.S. Commerce Department's Economic Development Administration (EDA) to help start a new wind technology program.

Morgan Hall receives 125 brand new mattresses to replace the old mattresses.

The 91制片厂 Lights basketball team became the Frontier Conference Tournament Champions for the second year in a row on Monday night, March 5th.

91制片厂鈥檚 regional accreditation is reaffirmed by Northwest by the Commission on Colleges and University (NWCCU).

The criminal justice degree is approved by approved by Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, (NWCCU).

The Chancellor moves the annual scholarship awards ceremony into four scholarship receptions that took place at the Chancellor鈥檚 house.

On April 19, 91制片厂 held the dedication of the Circle of Honor (by the flags in front of Cowan Hall).

Jay Reed made the new academic mace out of Cherry wood which will be carried into academic ceremonies by the Faculty Marshal, who is usually the university's most-senior faculty.

On April 30, Student Senate officially opened their new offices, which are located in the southwest corner of the Student Union Building Ballroom entryway.

The Food Services dining hall is renovated into a food court instead of a cafeteria.

2013

The 2013 91制片厂 Legislature appropriates 4.9 million dollars to 91制片厂 to help build a new Automotive Diesel Technology building. 91制片厂 must raise the remaining amount needed to build this building through corporate and private donations.

91制片厂 started The Chancellor's Club which is located under the bleachers on the North side of the gym and is available to the people who purchase a season ticket in the Armory Gymnasium. The Chancellor's Club opens between the women鈥檚 and men鈥檚 games during double-header conference basketball games. It offers a variety of refreshments and snacks for members.

91制片厂's Alternate Fuel Facility receives a new AVL Dynamometer, which allows the facility to conduct emission tests, mileage accumulation tests, noise, vibration and harshness tests and electromagnetic compatibility tests (EMC).

General Electric Transportation (GE) donates a cut-away Tier II/Tier III Diesel locomotive training engine and specialized tooling to 91制片厂's Diesel Technology program.

The tennis courts next to the Armory Gymnasium are renovated.

Preservation repairs are made to Donaldson Hall for future academic and institutional growth. The repairs are made to the exterior masonry, to solve the water drainage issues.

91制片厂 adopts a new fight song written by Jim Potter, Shauna Albrecht, and Autumn Elliot. The song revises the lyrics to the original Northern 91制片厂 College fight song which was written in 1963 by John Varnum and ultimately dropped when NMC became 91制片厂 in 1994. The new version of the fight song keeps the original Washington and Lee Swing tune and many of the original words.

For the first time in 22 years, our Skylights volleyball team claims the Frontier Conference championship.

91制片厂 State University-Northern constructs a small museum in the Library to house its collection of American Indian artifacts, that were on display in the Hagener Science Center.

2014

James Limbaugh resigns as Chancellor of 91制片厂 on August 29, 2014.

Greg Kegel is appointed Chancellor of 91制片厂 by 91制片厂 President Waded Cruzado on August 30, 2014.

The Havre Chamber of Commerce and 91制片厂 State University-Northern teams up to launch the "Big N" decorating contest. This contest helps to "N"lighten, "N"vision, "N"hance, "N"vigorate, and "N"ergize Northern school spirit throughout Havre.

Larry Strizich became the Interim Dean of COTS and Steven Don to take on the role of College Chair for COTS. In accepting this position, Steven vacates his position as President of the Academic Senate; Vice-president Loren Schlofeldt steppes up to the president position.

Students start the "Shake it Till you Make it Dance Club." The club mets every Wednesday and gave students a chance to share their love of dancing.

On October 19, 2014, 91制片厂 hosts Community Appreciation BBQ to thank the community for their ongoing support and welcome the new Chancellor Greg Kegel and new Foundation Director Jim Bennett.

91制片厂 starts a men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 cross-country team under the direction of head coach Dr. Chad Spangler.

91制片厂 kicks off the capital campaign for the Diesel Technology Center with a major check presentation worth 3.15 before the football game on Saturday against 91制片厂 Tech. This gift comes from four generous corporate partners: The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation gives one million dollars, The Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Foundation gives one million dollars, GE Transportation gives one million in equipment, and Independence Bank gives one hundred and fifty thousand dollars.

91制片厂 starts their first annual Feast of Nations, which featured the country of Morocco. The purpose of the event is to infuse multiculturalism into the campus and the community.

Northern opens the Veterans success center in 115 Hagener Science Center.

On December 9th 2014 91制片厂 starts their first graduation ceremony for the people who graduated in the fall semester.

91制片厂 starts the All Sports Banquet, a celebration to honor 91制片厂 student athletes. The All-Sports Banquet provides an opportunity for all the Northern family to say thank you to the student-athletes for all the hard work and dedication they give to 91制片厂.

2015

Aaron Christensen is named 91制片厂's new Head Football Coach.

91制片厂 students Joe Vernon and Aaron Peters update the Tucker Montgomery Folf Course located on the campus grounds. They use GPS to geo-reference the tees and baskets. Tom Welch, a faculty member, helps them create a map of the course.

Terri Hildebrand and Kino Detrick create the first of several teaching gardens on the 91制片厂N campus. The new garden adds color and provides hands-on opportunities for students to learn about plants as well as the environments in which they grow.

The 91制片厂 Bookstore received a major facelift with new carpet, new spacious front counter for dual cashier stations.

91制片厂 hosts (Nov. 5-6) the 3rd Annual One91制片厂 Symposium on campus. The theme was 鈥淏eyond Articulation Agreements: Developing a Winning Strategy.鈥

91制片厂's first ever Zombie Chase takes place on Halloween day. The event includes four different one-mile chases around campus. The rules are simple: run like crazy, and hope you don't get caught by a zombie.

2016

The NAIA Lights Wrestling Team takes on the NCAA Iowa Hawkeyes. The day was full of excitement and fierce competition. The Lights brought their best against the talented Hawkeyes.

Lights Wrestling Team took second place in the Nation (NAIA).

91制片厂N/MAT Theatre in Cowan Hall receives brand new carpet throughout the facility. The new carpet gives the area a sharper, cleaner look.

2017

Shawn Huse honored for winning 300th game on December 1, when the Lights Basketball team defeated 91制片厂 Tech in Butte 76-62.

On January 26, Natalee Faupel broke Shiela Green鈥檚 25-year record of 1566 points.

While the wrestling team was at the NAIA National Tournament, former coach, David Ray, was inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame with two of his former wrestlers, Turk Lords (4x NAIA National Champion) and Emmett Willson (3x NAIA National Champion and 4x All-American).

The 2017 Golden "N" recipients were Will Taylor, Tom Welch, and Jeremy Hofman.

The 2017 Founders' Excellence Award recipients were Gail Rader and Dr. Margarett Campbell.

The 2017 Athletic Hall of Fame inductees were Steven C. Helm Jr ('98), Doug Kallenberger ('05), and Mike Leinwand ('99 & '04).

W盲rtsil盲 donates engine for 91制片厂's New Diesel Technology Center. The engine and related tools is valued at $1.1 million dollars, and will be used in Northern's Big Bore Lab.

Neil Moisey became 91制片厂's new Provost and Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs.

2018

Andrew Rolin named 91制片厂 Head Football Coach.

The Grand opening of the Diesel Technology Center is at the May Board of Regents meeting.

2019

Jerry Wagner became our new head volleyball coach. Wagner coached the Skylights in 1987 and was also the head coach of the Havre Blue Ponies from 1984-1987.
